Your guide will explain how these wonderful shapes were formed over hundreds of thousands of years ago. After this fascinating underground experience we’ll make our way to the Quinta Carolina Estate, an old hacienda of great significance in the history of Chihuahua. The estate belonged to the powerful Creel-Terrazas family, supporters of President Porfirio Diaz, and played an important role during the Mexican Revolution. Though now in a semi-ruined state, the governments of the city and state of Chihuahua are beginning an extensive rehabilitation and restoration of the property. The estate was once completely outside the city and where there are now houses, once only ranch land, cultivated farmland and gardens surrounded the estate house, chapel and outbuildings.
